Located in Seattle - Georgetown Neighborhood
We work with small, local farmers (think farmers' markets) to transport, pack, and deliver food goods to restaurants, food banks, schools, and also directly to homes and apartments. This work includes delivery and pickup driving as well as packing, taking inventory, and other warehouse duties. The owners work right alongside employees and our work directly contributes to making our local food system more equitable, tasty, and conscious of climate change.
This job splits its time between driving and warehouse responsibilities. Delivery and pickup routes last between 4 to 8 hours and use company vehicles to pick up, sort, and deliver fruits, veggies, and other local food items. Routes start and end at our South Seattle warehouse and go throughout the Greater Seattle-Bellevue-Tacoma area. Destination for routes includes restaurants, preschools, grocers, suburban homes, apartments as well as route out to farms in the surrounding area.
Warehouse duties includes breaking down full cases into small pack sizes, sorting orders, and cleaning to ensure food safety. This job requires working in a walk-in fridge for several hours, a walk-in freezer for up to 60 minutes, and lifting boxes weighing 50+ pounds. Attention to detail and following systems are keys to success in this role.Other related duties as assigned.
25-30 hours per week:
Availability beyond the end time above is required based on business needs. Likewise, additional hours on Thursday or Friday will likely be available intermittently through Thanksgiving to help cover co-workers on vacation and how busy we get.
Our work is seasonal and these hours are only available through Thanksgiving. Continued opportunities beyond Thanksgiving depend upon business needs.
